When you use RVshare, there are a lot of different things that you may need to be notified about. Most of these notifications will go to your email address, however we understand that your preferences can vary, so we provide you with a few options in your account so you can decide what you are notified about and where!
To access your notification preferences, you’ll need to log into your RVshare Dashboard, go to Account, and then to Notifications. Once there, you’ll see a few different options with boxes next to them which you can check or uncheck to note whether or not you would like to receive an email or text.
At the top, you will be asked to enter a cell phone number at which you would receive notifications via text message. If you do not have a device on which you can receive texts, you can simply leave this section blank and all of your notifications will then go to your email. If you would like to receive notifications via text message, enter a number at the top and then you will be able to opt in and out of two different types of text notifications.
The first type of text notification is for Pre-Paid Requests. If you opt in to receiving these notifications, you will receive a text every time a renter sends you a Request to Book. These notifications are great to receive via text due to the limited timeframe that owners have to accept or decline those requests. Opting in means you will be notified almost instantly when you receive a booking request, thus allowing you to accept the reservation as quickly as possible. If you don’t receive these notifications via text and don’t get around to checking your email or RVshare account, then the request may expire or the renter may find another RV to rent and decide to cancel the request they sent you.
The second type of text notifications you can opt in or out of are New Conversations. If you opt in to these, you will receive a text message every time a new renter reaches out to you. These text notifications are helpful because it will allow you to keep up with your response times. If you are able to respond to the renter quickly, you are more likely to gain their trust by showing that you are an attentive and helpful owner. Responsiveness is important to renters because they don’t always know what goes into renting an RV and this can make them apprehensive to do so. However, if you are responsive before the rental, then they can rest assured that you’ll likely be responsive during the rental as well, which can ease their mind about the unpredictability of RV rentals.
The last notification type that you are able to opt in and out of are SmartMatch notifications. While you don’t currently have the option to receive text notifications about your new SmartMatch connections, you are able to receive emails about them. All of your SmartMatch connections already live in the SmartMatch folder in your RVshare Inbox, however if you aren’t able to log into your account to check on those, you can opt in to receiving emails about them too! This will allow you to be up-to-date on any new matches so you know whether or not you need to log into your account to reach out to those potential renters.
